"Fenris… I'll find a way to free you… I promise," She vowed as they parted ways at her estate. For a moment she watched as he walked away with his shoulders back and his head held high, he looked like a completely different man than what she saw in Danarius' mansion. Closing her eyes she could see Fenris, with his eyes lowered, sagging shoulders and head bowed. All the signs of submission came back to him so easily… She wanted to help him, but she began to wonder if he was fighting for his freedom anymore. Will he fight back when Danarius comes for us? She began to wonder as she turned to go into her estate.

The moment she walked in she heard voices arguing about her mother. "What's going on?" Hawke asked as she entered the main hall. "Maker, where have you been?!" Gamlen asked her angrily, "Have you seen Leandra, is she alright?" he asked anxiously. "No, I've been out all day. I'm sure she is fine. Why?" She asked quietly. Gamlen began to explain, "She missed our weekly visit, is she ill? She is here isn't she?" he asked with growing anxiety flowing through his voice. That's when Bodhan spoke up, uttering the words that sent chills through Rem's spine, "No Gamlen, we haven't seen her all day. Perhaps she is with her suitor? She had received those white lilies over there earlier, so maybe she went out to meet him." he suggested in his fatherly tone. White lilies… white lilies… she thought, until it hit her like a ton of bricks. "I know something about that!" she announced hastily, "… There's a killer in Kirkwall that sends his victims white lilies before he abducts them… he's murdered several women already…" she said hesitantly feeling the air catching in her chest.

"No, you're wrong. Leandra is fine. Maybe Leandra took another path and we just missed each other. I'm gong to go look for her." Gamlen insisted as he squared himself to Hawke. She was frozen…terrified that she was right… Her expression must have been screaming of fear because Bodhan spoke up suggesting that he would stay at the estate to wait for her, that she could go look for Leandra. "Thank you Bodhan!" She shouted back as she ran up to her room, dropping her dress from her shoulders. Rushing she hurried up and pulled on her normal tunic and armor, she grabbed her blades from where they leaned up against the wall by the door and she ran out of her estate. What do I do she thought frantically. She could feel the panic surge through her… another person that she failed she thought as she ran to Fenris' estate.

Without thinking she busted through the door, "FENRIS!" She shouted, in a voice that she didn't even recognize as she tripped over one of the remnants of broken furniture in the main hall. It was closer than a shrill than an actual shout. Within seconds, Fenris had appeared jumping from the second floor with his huge blade in hand. "What?! What's going on?" He asked as he rushed over to her. "It's mother… She's been gone all day… Gamlen came by to see after her because she didn't meet for their weekly visit… and Bodhan suggested that she was with some suitor… I've never heard of her speaking of a suitor… but she received some white lilies… I know it could be coincidence.. But if not… it's going to be… I can't lose anyone else.." She said as she climbed to her feet.

"Come on" Fenris said as he sheathed his sword and took her wrist as he hurried out of his estate. "We'll get the abomination on our way… that man said he'd be in Dark Town maybe he's learned of something new." Fenris said as he ran towards Darktown. As they made their way through Hightown Fenris saw Sebastian wandering around. Apparently he hadn't made it back to the Chantry yet because he still had his bow strapped to his back, "Sebastian!!" Fenris shouted out as he ran towards the man. Surprised, Sebastian turned around in time to see Fenris reach out and grab his wrist and drag him along. "You're coming along," Fenris said in a harsher tone that he really intended to, but he couldn't stop to apologize now. He couldn't fail Hawke now.

After stumbling a little, Sebastian caught pace with the other two, "What's going on?" Sebastian asked as he looked over and saw the despair in Rem's features. Saying a silent prayer while he waited for Fenris to explain. "Hawke's mom has gone missing, and it sounds a lot like what has happened with the women who have gone missing before.. Remember the DuPuis man that we investigated at one time? We're heading for him and we'll pick up the abomination along the way." He explained curtly. That was all Sebastian needed to hear as he felt himself begin to dig his feet into the ground in attempt to move a little faster.

As soon as they arrived in Darktown Fenris told Sebastian to go get Anders and meet up with them while they searched for DuPuis. So they split off, Sebastian ran for Anders and Fenris and Hawke went looking for DuPuis. As Sebastian busted abruptly into the clinic, he saw a magic spell crash into the wall beside him. "Sebastian? What's the matter?" Anders asked clearly surprised by Sebastian's entrance. "It's Hawke… her mother has gone missing… we suspect that DuPuis guy that we… investigated from before" he panted as he tried to catch his breath, "Fenris and Hawke are looking for him down here… and sent me to get you.. She'd been missing all day I guess… so you're healing abilities are probably important to have handy" He explained quickly. Without a word Anders strapped his staff to his back and followed Sebastian through the clinic, turning off the lanterns with a flick of his wrist.

Meanwhile, Fenris and Hawke had found DuPuis and by the time Anders and Sebastian had came up DuPuis had just finished using his blood magic to find their target. "The warehouse in the Foundry District" DuPuis said, "Come on, let's go," he said as he ran through Darktown. Their small rag tag group looked at one another for a moment before they followed DuPuis into Lowtown. The closer they came to the warehouse they could see pools of blood leading the way, silently Sebastian took a sideways glance to Hawke to see her fighting to keep her composure. Maker please let us arrive in time he prayed silently to himself as he ran into the warehouse.

"I believe that Isabella said that they had investigated this place before… I wonder if they noticed the trap door the first time" Anders said as he pointed out how the blood trail seemed to lead straight to it. "Come on" DuPuis prodded as he pulled the door open. Fenris went down first; quickly he surveyed the area before he looked up to see Hawke coming down after him. Any other occasion and the unconscious glance up her skirt would have made him blush, but now he was too caught up in their situation to notice as he helped her down from the latter. It wasn't long after DuPuis finally made it down that they were attacked by shades and rage demons.

"At least we know we're on the right track" DuPuis called out as he blasted a rage demon with his ice spell. They all fought quickly and silently, it felt odd even to Fenris with how quiet their battle has been. As soon as the last demon fell, they saw a cloaked body lying on a bench that was pushed to the edge of the room. The rest of them hung back as Hawke ran over to the woman on the bench, "Mother?" she asked softly as she turned the body over.. "Arlessa?" she said in confusion, but relieved to see that it wasn't in fact her mother.

"Come on… we need to investigate further in.. We don't have time to linger" DuPuis pushed eagerly. The further they explored the smell of blood and decay became worse, Hawke barely felt as though she was going to be sick, but she couldn't afford to do that now.  Along the way she saw a small shine off of something on the floor, quietly she walked over and picked it up. Instantly she recognized it, and for once she wished she didn't. "This is… my mother's locket… she would never take it off," She said not realizing that she actually said it out loud, she turned to look at her companions but her eyes fell on Fenris. And he knew exactly what she was thinking… she failed again.

She took a deep breath and turned back around and pressed forward. The next room that they entered was filled with books and papers littering the floor. "What is this?" She asked as she looked up into a large painting that was hanging above a fireplace.. "She looks like Leandra…" Sebastian added dumbly. "A shrine, to a wife perhaps?" Anders suggested as he turned to look at some of the papers scattered on the table. His heart sank as he read of research in necromancy… this isn't a good sign he thought. Distracted by he swift nudge that Fenris had given him, "Stop.. You're giving too much away," Fenris whispered as he walked by Anders.

"Come on, we have no more time to stand idly by" DuPuis announced as he ran into the next corridor with Hawke following steps behind him. They all ran together until they saw an older mage standing before them. "I was wondering when you would show up… Leandra was so sure you'd come for her." He said ominously. "Where is she?" Hawke asked sternly surprising her companions, they had never heard her speak in such a tone. "She spoke highly of you, but alas we all have our short comings right? She was such a beautiful, kind woman." He said calmly.

"Quentin!" Gascard announced interrupting their conversation. "Ah, Gascard, you've finally found me. After all these years, I figured you gave up." He said as he walked over to their group. "So, you two known each other… How didn't I see that coming?" She asked, her annoyance was clear as her markings began to glow faintly. "I'm going to learn your secrets old man, everything you kept from me" DuPuis started as he turned to face Hawke, "I did not deceive you completely, we still have the same goals. Defeat Quentin and you get your mother back and I get his research." He began to explain, but Quentin cut him off. "I am sorry Gascard. When my wife died, I lost all hope; I wasn't able to be the mentor you deserved. But now my research is finished. I'm finally able to teach you as I have always intended to." He offered.  "Don't you see the monster this has turned him into? You cannot possibly want this… Is this really the skills that you want to have? It has clearly driven this man mad." Hawke explained

"I… I… Ever since she died, I could think of nothing else but to bring her back… but you.. You're right… he is mad… let's finish this." DuPuis finally agreed. "You will never be able to understand my purpose. Your mother was chosen because she was special. And now she is part of something greater." He said with the insanity dripping from his voice. "Spare me the demented details, where is she?!" Hawke demanded. "She's here, waiting for you. …I have done the impossible. I have touched the face of the maker and lived. …Do you know what the strongest force in the universe is?" He asked, slowly losing more of his grip on reality, "… love" he answered himself. "I pieced her together from memory, I found her eyes, her skin, her delicate figure… and at last her face, her beautiful face." He said as he reached down to the figure sitting before him. "I have searched to find you again beloved…. And no force on earth will separate us." He said as the figured rose up from the chair and slowly turned around to face Hawke and her companions.

The moment Hawke had set eyes on the figure she gasped for air; unconsciously she took a step back colliding into whatever was behind her. "No.." she whispered in disbelief as she tried to retreat further back away from the creature approaching her. That was when she felt the cold armor of Fenris' gauntlet catching her arm. Finally, she took a deep breath and unsheathed her weapons and set her sights on Quentin. With a powerful magic spell, Quentin summoned a barrier to protect himself as well as summon shades and corpses from the ground to fight his battle for him.

It was like it was all routine; they each split up and started to fight their choice of opponent. Hawke tried to focus on the demon in front of her, but she couldn't keep herself from looking over at Quentin and what was supposed to be her mother. She was waiting for Quentin to finally drop his barrier.. She wanted his blood, she lusted for it. However, the distraction of trying to watch him took quite a toll on her fighting, time and time again the demons came close to inflicting severe injuries to her.. But she couldn't care less.. All that mattered was that she got to kill Quentin. Finally dispatching the demon in front of her she turned to see if the shift in magic she felt was Quentin's barrier coming down but her eyes stopped as she saw her mother stumble closer to the battle, and she was paralyzed. As if by magic she couldn't force herself to move, "Hawke!" Fenris cried, but to no avail.. She was too caught up in the sight of her mother to see the spell Quentin had cast. Dropping his blade as he ran for her, shoving her to the ground as the spell crashed into his chest and flung him into a wall.

What kind of spell was that he thought as he felt as if his insides had been torn open, and blood had begun to slip through his lips. "What?" she whispered to herself, as she couldn't understand how she ended up on the floor. She turned her head to see Fenris on the floor a few feet from her. "Fenris!" she said as she started to get up. "I'm fine, just need a minute to catch my breath." He lied… the last thing he wanted was to be another distraction for her. "Anders!" She called looking over to see him in the thick of battle.  "Anders, heal Fenris!" she ordered as she charged Quentin who erected another barrier around himself. She didn't care anymore as her rage took over her senses; she began swinging fiercely at his barrier when finally the barrier proved too much for her sword. With a last swing, her sword shattered sending sharp shards flying through the air, one reflecting up and cutting Rem's face near her right eye.

In frustration, she let out a loud cry as she ignited her lyrium, which instantly sent pain radiating through her entire body. She never fought using her lyrium in front of her friends before, but she would be damned if she let someone else take his life. It just took one swing of her fist to distract Quentin enough to dispel his barrier. The moment her hand breached the barrier and inched into his flesh he screamed out in pain. Anders couldn't help but pause his healing of Fenris to see Hawke's arm phased through the demented mage's barrier and into his chest. "No…" Fenris pleaded as he watched Hawke lose control of herself.

Hawke watched the pain and desperation in Quentin's eyes as she held his beating heart in her hand. With a smile, she clenched her fist crushing his heart. Turning she saw the corpse that was approaching Sebastian's back and sent her dagger flying lodging it deep in between the corpses eye sockets. Silently, everyone watched as she walked over and removed her dagger. The sounds of unstable footsteps caught her attention. Hawke closed her eyes and took a deep breath as she turned to se her mother approaching her weakly. "Mother!" she cried out as the creature collapsed into her arms.

Quickly, Rem tried to situate her mother on the ground comfortably. "I knew you would come…" Leandra said quietly. "I… I wasn't fast enough, Mother I'm so sorry… I couldn't help.." Hawke started to ramble as she felt the stinging of tears burning her eyes. "Shhh… don't fret darling. That man would have kept me trapped in here… Now, I'm free… I get to see Bethany again… and your father… But you'll be here alone." She said in a faint hoarse tone. "No, don't worry about me… I'll be fine." Rem lied as she looked away from her mother's haunting face.

"My little girl has become so strong," She said as Hawke could feel the strength in Leandra's 'body' begin to fade she looked back over to her mother's haunting eyes. "I love you. You've… made me proud" she said as the last of Quentin's magic fled her corpse. Her friends stood behind her as she bowed her head in defeat, desperately trying to keep herself together in front of her companions… but she could feel her ties to a level head tearing at the seams. Slowly she set her mother's body on the ground and stood up… "Sebastian…" she said as she bit her lip.. "Don't worry, I'll take care of it." He hurried and said before she could continue.

And with that she walked out of the room, not turning to face her comrades once.  Turning to one another they all had no words for what they just experienced and what was going to come. "If you guys don't mind. Let's get this taken care of… She will need some time to herself I think." Sebastian said warmly.

Hawke kept running until she made it into her estate. Slamming the door behind herself, grateful that no one had followed her. Before she could release the breath she had been holding she heard more arguing in her home. What is it now… I don't care but they are leaving now… she thought as she walked into the library to see Gamlen arguing with Bodhan again. "Have you found her? I have looked all over." He asked impatiently leaving Bodhan's side to approach Rem. When she didn't reply he grabbed her by the loose blood stained fabric around her neck and forced her into the wall. Staring deep into her eyes, "Well? Answer me whore!" He yelled... He needed answers and he wanted them now.

"I found her… she's not coming back." She said coldly, her eyes were distant and unfocused. Throwing her to the floor, "What do you mean? …You were right... About the flowers and everything?" He asked impatiently pacing as he waited for her reply. "Yes. I was too late."

"So you're to blame! If you were quicker… or stronger, you could've saved her and you know it! She would still be here if it wasn't for you!" He shouted angrily at Rem. "Why her?? Why Leandra?" he asked futilely as he began to sob. "Do you really want to know? Does it really even matter to you?" Rem said as she stood up and looked into the fire. "I… I … forget it, you're worthless," he said as he headed for the door. "I'll send a note to Carver." Were the last words he said to her before he left the room.

Rem quietly turned to Bodhan, "Please take everyone and leave for the night. You know where to find the coin. Thank you" she said as she turned and walked out of the library. She stood staring out the window of the main hall as she waited for her estate to clear out, quietly listening to the footsteps heading for the door. Once she heard the door close she finally gave way to her anger, her frustration and guilt. She picked up the vase of lilies and pitched it across the room, smashing it into tiny pieces. But that wasn't the only casualty of the house. In her rage she flung chairs this way and that. Whatever crossed her path as she headed to her bedchambers.

Her temperament was so intense that even Izaya steered clear of her. Looking over into the broken mirror that still stood in the corner of her room, she looked into her shattered reflection as she watched a tear fall down from the face she didn't know. Suddenly she punched her fist into the last of the glass that clung to the mirror, successfully shattering the last shard. I can't… I can't stay here… I can't do this she thought as she started to pile some things on her bed. That should be enough she thought as she stuffed it into her large pack that she brought back from their picnic. Looking around the room a last time she saw the glass Fenris had brought for the flowers he would bring her. It was a beautiful wine glass, decorated with stones of emerald that reminded her of his eyes. Dumping the water and flowers out onto the floor she set the glass securely into her pack… She would keep on memento from all this she thought as she slid the pack over her shoulder.

Nothing seemed to help ease the weight in her chest, or the anger seething through her veins. As she headed toward the stairs, she remembered the one thing she wanted to leave behind. But as she turned to go back to her room, she froze when she saw her mother's closed door. That was the last straw… she couldn't take anymore, she flung her dagger, lodging it into the Amell crest. She no longer had any need of it, she destroyed the matching sword.

Dropping her pack by her feet, she fell to her knees running her trembling fingers through her hair as she sunk down with her white hair cascading over her shoulders. When the tightening of her chest became too much she let out a scream that seemed to chill the empty halls of her estate. It was a long, hallow sound that could only be uttered by a woman who had finally broken. Her lyrium markings began to burn as they became blindingly white. With a sharp gasp, her vision began to blur as she felt as though she was being torn apart. So many images flooded her mind. She was so confused and the pain overwhelmed her, her limp form collapsed in the floor knocking over the pack she had packed. All that could be heard was the sound of her glass as it rolled out of the sack. Spilling out the one bloom she had kept onto the floor.

After silence had overtaken the estate, Izaya began to cry and bark uncontrollably when he discovered that he couldn't stir his master. The proud mabari would run back and forth from the door back up the stairs to Hawke's unconscious form, softly nudging a limb each time checking for some kind of response.

******Meanwhile at the Hanged Man******

"Everyone, I'm glad that you have been able to come" Sebastian announced calmly as he looked over the worried expressions of his comrades. "Today, after our picnic, Hawke discovered that her mother had gone missing… I am here to tell you, that we discovered that the man who was behind the missing women in Kirkwal had kidnapped herl… and that Hawke has lost her mother… I can't imagine how she feels now… losing someone twice… to forget who they were.. And now to have them die in her arms." He said quietly, his expression showing just how grave he felt the situation was. "Don't we need to tell Broody or Blondie?" Isabella asked as she looked around to see that neither of them were present.

"They were both there… They know. I suspect Fenris is probably on his way to check on her now." He said as he turned his attention back to the rest of their comrades, "So, we need to decide how we should proceed. I don't know how much trauma a soul can take before it breaks. So if any of you have it in you to betray Hawke it is best you leave now, because Maker save you if I find out that someone puts her through any unnecessary stress." He said.

******Back at Hawke's Estate******

The only sounds that could be heard coming from within the estate were those of Izaya's exhausted whimperings. As Fenris hesitantly entered the main hall as he saw the wreckage Rem had left behind. Finally his gaze fell to Izaya lying at the top of the stairs. "Izaya?" Fenris called to the mabari quietly who immediately jumped up and ran to Fenris and began pushing and pulling Fenris to the stairs anxiously. "What is it Izaya? Where is Rem?" He asked feeling an indescribable sense of urgency as he watched the loyal mabari look up the stairs as it whimpered. Following the dogs gaze, Fenris saw Rem's collapsed form lying on the floor at the top of the stairs.

"Rem!" he shouted as he ran up to her, looking over her delicate form he saw the pack…the cup and her bloom on the floor nearby. "Rem?" he said aloud, finishing the rest of his question in his head… are you leaving me behind? Stop he thought as he looked at her blood stained form. She wasn't injured during our battle, so where did this come from? He thought as he brushed her hair to the side in order to take a better look at her wounds. Carefully, he turned Rem over and tried to take her armor and tunic off so that he could see where all this blood is from. But the moment he looked into her face he knew… her markings… it explained why there was barely any blood on her chest. Taking off his gauntlet he reached up and cupped her cheek, "Rem? Please… please say something…" he pleaded as he tried to wipe the blood from her face. Gently he picked her up and carried her down to the table so that Anders would have a better area to help her.

"Watch over her well Izaya, I'll be back with the abomination shortly" Fenris said as he ran to the cellar exit to Darktown. Rushing, Fenris gave a quick glance to make sure no one was around to see his coming and goings he ran straight for the clinic… Stopping dead in his tracks when he saw that the lanterns were off. "No.. You have to be there Anders…" He said to himself as he tried to open the door. Locked from the inside? He thought. "ANDERS!!" he screamed through the door as he began to pound on the door. Pausing momentarily to try and listen for any signs of movement. …. And there it was, a quick shuffling and the tinkering of locks. "Fenris?" he said as he flung the door open, "what is it?" he asked clearly he had been asleep, as he looked absolutely ragged.

"It's Hawke.. I stopped by to check on her and she was collapsed on the floor, covered in blood, I don't know how long she had been there… Please, you need to help her…" he pleaded to the mage. "Come on, let's go" Anders said as he ran to get his staff. Minutes later he met Fenris in Hawke's estate, it took him a minute to concentrate when he saw the elf kneeling by Hawke's limp form holding her hand. "Please, hang in there Rem…" Fenris whispered unknowing that Anders was just behind him. "Maker… What did you do Hawke?" Anders asked as he saw the destruction of the main hall. Broken chairs, broken glass everywhere.

"Fenris, can you see what kind of shape her room is in. When I'm done we'll bring her in there to rest" Anders requested, trying to get the elf to leave her side so he could have a little freedom in his healing magic. Glancing down at her unconscious form, Fenris finally complied leaving Anders to do his work he climbed up the stairs picking up her things he disappeared into her room.

Anders reached up and opened her eye, "What the hell?" he said quietly as he noticed they lyrium glowing from her eyes and her eye would twitch as if watching something… but she wasn't conscious. Quietly he let his hands begin to glow as his healing magic surged through Hawke, calming her heightened senses and mending her wounds. When he was finished, he picked her up off the table and climbed up the stairs into her chambers.

Looking over, he saw Fenris looking into the remnants of the corner mirror. "Is she okay?" He asked quietly as he walked over to the bed. "I think so… the wounds were very minor.. It wouldn't explain why she collapsed, but the stress of the day would I think." Anders explained… "I'm going back to my clinic if you need me." Anders said as he turned to leave, eager to try to do some research to understand what was happening. He wanted to be there for her, but after the things he said earlier… he didn't want to create any more stress. As soon as Anders was out of sight, Fenris knelt by her side, resting his forehead on the hand he was holding.

"Fenris…"

The slight movement in her hand caused Fenris to sit up. "Rem?.. I… You're okay," he said as he looked into her troubled eyes. "Fenris… please help me…" she whispered with her eyes closed, looking over to him she weakly ran her free hand through his hair. "Please… help me change… I need to try to get the feel off of me." She said tiredly. Her words didn't make much sense, but he understood her all the same. "As you wish… hold on Rem.. I'll get everything ready," he said quietly. He never would have thought that he would ever serve someone again. But with her… he wasn't serving her… he wanted to help her. To soothe her pain.

Quietly he prepared a bath for her, and helped her out of her down to her small clothes. When she pulled off her small clothes he couldn't help but blush as he helped her into the bath, making sure to keep his eyes on hers. Quietly he took her soaps and a cloth and began to wash her. Starting with her face, he reached out and cupped her cheek as he brought the warm cloth to the other and began to wipe the blood from her cheek. Next, he reached out and gingerly pulled her arm out of the warm water and began to remove some of the dried blood from around her markings using small, gentle circles with the lathered cloth. And he repeated his work dutifully to clean the rest of her. Finally when he was finished he found prepared some warm water to rinse her down with.

He held up a towel for her to wrap herself into as she got out of the tub… but instead she wrapped her arms around his neck causing him to drop the towel that was now pinned between her naked form and his armor. "Fenris… I don't want to be alone…" she whispered into the crook of his neck. Hesitantly, Fenris wrapped his bare arms around the small of her back. "I… I do not know what to say, but I am here…" he said as he tightened his hold on her.

After he gave himself a minute to enjoy his embrace, he grabbed the edges of the towel and wrapped them around Rem. "Please, you'll catch a cold if you stay like this" Fenris said as he guided her down to a chair. Rem watched Fenris blankly as he found a comfortable tunic for her to wear. As soon as he found what he was looking for he approached her with a clean set of small clothes and a tunic in hand. She stood up, letting the towel fall to the floor as he came closer, she saw how hard Fenris tried not to follow the falling towel. She looked down and watched the towel as it fell.

Shaking his head he tried to be a gentleman, "Here.. Let me help you." He offered, and for the first time he helped a woman put her clothes on willingly. Images of Hadriana's abuse kept trying to flood into his mind.. No… not now… he thought as he slid her delicate small clothes up her legs. As soon as he was done dressing her he started to guide her to the bed, but she gripped onto his wrist tightly. "Please… I don't want to stay here tonight… anywhere but here… please" she begged softly as she leaned into him. "As you wish, you can stay with me if you like." Fenris offered hoping that she would accept his offer so that he wouldn't have to suggest her staying with anyone else. Silently she let her hand slide down from his wrist so that she could intertwine her fingers with his.

Surprised, Fenris couldn't stop the corners of him mouth from curling up as he felt her take hold of his hand like that. She hadn't done that since the night of the gala… "Do you need to bring anything?" he asked as the two of them turned to leave the room. Silently she pointed over to the pack resting by the door. As Fenris walked over to collect the pack, Rem stopped at her dresser and wrapped her red ribbing around her waist. Turning to see Fenris had already slung the heavy pack over her shoulder she hurried over to join him by the door.

They didn't speak a single word the whole way to Fenris' estate until they were in Fenris' personal quarters. "You can stay anywhere you like. I have plenty of spare rooms that I don't use if you wish to be by yourself. If you wish to stay here with me or without that is fine." Fenris said as he set her pack down on the table. Looking over, he saw Rem walking over to the couch by the fireplace. "I'll start us a fire." He said as he turned around, only to see that Rem had already laid down on the couch and looked to be asleep already.

After starting a fire he sat down in the chair by the couch, silently watching over Rem. How am I supposed to help her now… he wondered… Clenching his fists, I'm useless. Frustrated, he stood up and started taking off his armor to change into some clothes to sleep in. That's when he heard her... he turned quickly to see what she wanted... but she was still sleeping... and dreaming of him.

"Fenris… I'm sorry… Please don't hate me…" she said softly as a tear fell down her cheek.
I know... I'm a horrible student... but I had to help Rem out... well I don't know if I'm helping her much... but it's coming close... Next chapter will have some joy for you...

In this chapter..... it's the All that Remains quest... bet you didn't see that coming! Now the reason for their picnic makes sense right?! lol... Yeah... I needed some drama to come up here so that it won't be super overdramatic later on. I think I like this chapter but as usual I haven't gone over it... so I need to look at CH 22 and this one... but I didn't feel like editing this time around....

I am really happy with how my pic turned out... this would be from the end of the chapter.... I like it :giggle:
